Overview

India Shopping started with a mission to make India’s local flavors and cultural products accessible to every household — no matter the state or city. Their growing Shopify store was doing well, but the mobile experience lacked the warmth and ease that defines shopping in Indian markets.

They partnered with StoreToApp to build an app that felt like walking through a colorful street bazaar — fast, joyful, and full of discovery.

Goal

The brand wanted to offer an intuitive, visually rich mobile app that could do three things:

  1. Help users easily explore diverse products by region, category, or mood.

  2. Simplify checkout and reordering.

  3. Build an emotional connection that reflected the charm of offline bazaars — all in a clean, digital format.

Challenge

India Shopping had a massive and diverse product inventory — but mobile users often felt overwhelmed trying to navigate it. The mobile site was slow, didn’t personalize the shopping flow, and lacked efficient filtering.

Most importantly, the brand’s unique cultural story — like the regional backstory of items or festival curation — was getting buried in product listings.

Solution

StoreToApp developed a mobile-first design system tailored for regional discovery. We implemented smart filters by state, festival, and product type — allowing users to quickly jump to what they love.

We made collection pages immersive with visuals, descriptions, and swipeable experiences. Push notifications were crafted using our AI engine to remind users of seasonal treats, restocks, or flash sales.

To make things feel more personal, we also built a recommendation engine based on past purchases and user preferences.
